I have just discovered the hard way ( $25) that a birth certificate in Manitoba gives you nothing . I've sent for the death certificate because in B.C. it gives parents , place of birth , their place of birth and all sorts of info. Manitoba assures me theirs are the same. I got a lot of info from one here and even found a second cousin who had signed the death certificate. Good Luck Coralynn in Quesnel, B.C.
