Since hospitals are being discussed, I thought this would be a good time to ask if anyone knows which hospitals were in existence around 1900? My gggrandmother was committed about that time in Winnipeg where she lived out the rest of her life. No one seems to know the name of the place as this was not discussed very openly in the family. She died sometime after 1920..... Did the Salvation Army hospital care for mentally ill patients long-term? Can anyone give me the names of the hospitals in Winnipeg around 1900?
