Dear Fulton, Blair, and Winnipeg friends, Being fairly new to genealogy I hear words now and then that I don't know. I am getting ready to purchase genealogy software and have been comparing products. The word "GEDCOM" keeps showing up- what does it mean??? Also I would be interested in your opinions on the various software products. Though I have only been at this a year or so I can honestly say that I am hooked (something my husband, children, friends and family will attest to!!!) I would like to have software that allows for not only my genealogy needs but enables me to do some work on the genealogy of others. Let me know what your experience has been and which products you recommend. I am looking at: FAMILY TREE MAKER and THE MASTER GENEALOGIST by Wholly Genes Software. What do you think?
