"Clarice Carr, 83, died quietly at Middlechurch Home, Middlechurch, Man., on April 29, 1977. She was born Clarice Hargraves in England on January 9, 1894. She was educated in England, and her love was music. She was a member of the Manchester Halle choir. Clarice and her sister Elizabeth came to Canada with their father who operated a bakery in St. James, Man.. Early in the 1930's Clarice married Luther J. S. Carr who farmed at Endeliffe, near Russell, Manitoba. Her talents as a vocal soloist were much sought after in that area for many years. She was predeceased by her husband in 1943, and soon after moved to Winnipeg. For many years, she was a member of Chalmers United Church and sang in the choir there. Clarice Carr is lovingly remembered by her sister, Elizabeth Peck and her nices, Marjorie Lafferty and Joan McDonald, all of Ontario." For information only.
