"On May 5, 1977 at the Health Sciences Center, after a lengthy illness, Mr. Frederick Stanley Gamey, aged 65 years, beloved husband of Pat, nee Lucy Snyder, of 40 Deer Lodge Pl.. Mr. Gamey was born and educated in Newdale, Man., the younger son of Fred and Minnie Mae Gamey. He graduated from Wesley College (now University of Winnipeg) during the 1930's. He was employed as a geologist on mining areas of Canada and the Northwest Territories. Early in the war, he worked for De Havilland of Canada and was night superintendent of inspection of Triger training planes and the Misquito bomber. In 1943, he joined the army in the Survey Branch of the Royal Canadian Artillery and saw action in Holland and Northwest Germany. On his return to civilian life, he was employed by the Mines Branch of the Department of Natural Resources, Manitoba Government, retiring in 1974 as Chief Petroleum Engineer. He is survived by his wife Pat; daughter, Katharine of Winnipeg, Marianne of Calgary and daughter and son - in - law Janet and Alan Schick, and grandson, Adam Schick, of Winnipeg, also his sister, Bird of Victoria and brother Carwford and sister - in - law Avis of Toronto. Funeral service will be held at Park Lawn Chapel, 1838 Protage Ave., 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 7 with Rev. P. W. L. Smith officiating, followed by cremation. Service will terminate at the chapel. In lieu of flowers, friends who wish may make donations in his name to the Manitoba Cancer Fund. Arrangements in care of Park Lawn Chapel, Leatherdale - Gardiner (St. James) 888 - 7977."
