"On May 5, 1977 at the Misericordia Hospital, Mrs. Margaret Louise McAskill, aged 44 years, beloved wife of Gerry McAskill of 75 Wilkinson Crescent, Portage la Paririe. Mrs. McAskill was born on September 29, 1932, the only daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. A. Eastman. She was raised in Ethelbert, Man. and graduated from high school at Dauphin. She then attended Normal School in Winnipeg and graduated in 1951. She taught at Osborne, MacDonald, the Manitoba School in Portage and at Prince Charles School before moving to Middleton, N.S. where she also taught for a year. Upon her return to Manitoba in 1961 she was employed at the Bay and investors Syndicaie and resumed teaching in 1964 at Linwood Junior High School in St. James, Winnipeg until 1964. She completed her teaching career in Portage at Prince Charles School, being employed there from 1966 - 1974. She was a member of Ruth Rebekah Lodge No 3 in Portage. She leaves to mourn her passing, besides her Gerry, her daughter. Shannon and her son, Danny. Father Soaterbook will officiage at the memorial service to be held at St. John's Church in Portage la Prairie on Monday, May 9, 1977 at 5:00 p.m..
