James Christie is my gr. uncle on my mother's side. I am looking for more information on him, perhaps relatives in Winnipeg. He was b. 1870/1871 (calculated from the 1881 and 1891 census) in Bentinck Twp., Grey Co., Ontario. He was the s/o Alexander CHRISTIE and Sophia HAINER Christie. They had eight children - all born in Bentinck Twp. Two died very young and the rest lived to adulthood. James was the fifth child of the eight. His father's obituary of Mar. 1906 shows James and his younger sister, Margaret, as from Winnipeg. His mother's obit of Nov 1907 shows James as from Saskatchewan and Margaret from Winnipeg. Margaret's obit of Dec 1934 shows James as from Winnipeg and as a pallbearer at her funeral in Winnipeg. According to my calculations, James would have been about 64 years of age at that time. Unfortunately, I have no information as to his marital status, children, or type of occupation(s) he may have had. This is a bit lengthy but I'm hoping that it may trigger someone's memory.
