"The funeral of the late W. R. Burton took place from his residence, the Windsor hotel, yesterday afternoon to St. John's cemetery, and was largely attended by members of the Loyal Orange association and Royal Black Knights of Ireland, of which Mr. Burton has been a active member for a number of years, and was at the time of his death grand registrar of the Black Chapter of Manitoba. The casket was covered with beauitful flowers, amongst which were the following: A crest from the children, with the word, "Papa" heart, Mr. and Mrs. Spence; Maltese cross, Mr. and Mrs. Sharrard; wreath, E. L. Drewry; star, J. L. Campbell; wreath, Geo Velle; wreath, J. McDonald; anchor, Mr. and Mrs. B. J. Bond; spray, Nurse Baker; bouquet, Mr. and Mrs. A. Gibson; spray , white lilies, Annie Whistie; flowers, Mr.and Mrs. J. Hamilton. The pallbearers were: D. J. Hannah, A. C. Williamson, W. Conolly, Geo. McCord, Samuel Weir and Samuel Corrie, who were members of the Black Chapter. The Rev. Hamilt! on Wigle, assisted by the Rev. F. M. Finn, conducted the service at the house, and the Rev. Canon Matheson at the grave. The beautiful service of the Orange worder was read at the grave by the Worthy Master Geo. Gardiner, and the Rev. Thos. Argue.
