"On May 4, 1977 after a lengthy illness, at the Deer Lodge Hospital, Mr. Peter Babiak, aged 58 years, beloved husband of Anne Babiak, of 1843 Alexander Ave.. Prayers at 9:00 p.m. Thursday (tonight) at Zaqidoski Funeral Chapel. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday at Zawidoski Funeral Chapel, Rev. E. Rudachek will officiate. Interment in the Holy Family Cemetery. Born and educated in Winnipeg, Mr. Babiak had been a self - employed contractor for the past 35 years. He was a member of the Veteran Legion Weston Branch, a Veteran of the Second World War, the Carpathia Credit Union, the Ukrainian Professional Business Mens' Club, the Canadian German Society. He was a ardent sportsman who enjoyed fishing and hunting. Besides his wife Anne, he is survived by two daughters, Carol Olson of Winnipeg, and Mrs. Douglas (Verna) MacKenzie of Squamish, B. C., three sons, Steve of Winnipeg, Paul of Morden, Man. and Andrew of Edson, Alta., seven grandchildren. Douglas and David MacKenzie Christine Olson, Brian Babiak, Darryl, Darrin and Jamie Babiak, three brothers, Harry, Fred and Elijah Babiak, three Sisters Mrs. Dora Muzyka of Winnipeg, Miss Sophie and Annie Babiak, both of Winnipeg, numerous nephews and nieces.
