    1. [MBWINNIPEG-L] 1901 Manitoba census
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/mNC.2ACE/2468.2 Message Board Post: Regis, Check the Manitoba census for 1901 at http://www.archives.ca/02/020122_e.html Lisgar District 7 Sub -Lorne schedule c-1 schedule 1 twp 5 Range 8 microfilm reel # T-6432 page 10 When I checked I found a family #84 that looks very close to the family you are looking for. TRIFFER, Louis birthdate of April 16, 1846 Julian b.June 24 (47 years old) Josephine b. February 24 Maria b. October 22 (18 years old) Louis b.November 16 (16 years old) Harriet b. June 16 Leano b. May 3 (8 years old) Alfred b.August 24 (5 years old) This family came from France in 1881. I am wondering if the person who took the census maybe did not speak french well and possibly spelled the last name wrong or just heard it wrong and spelled it like it sounded. Do look at the census in case this is your relative. Good luck, Karen
