    3. Leeanne, The information I sent you came from the book that our district in Manitoba did. Tilston is in the R.M. of Albert district. Pierson , which was the other town close by was R. M. of Edward district. (R.M.-Rural Municipality) I also have access to the Melita one R.M.of Arthur..All the families that live there or had lived there sent in their family histories and these became quite large books. I'm sure a lot of other municipalites in Manitoba did them. It is a great source of information. As for the Nappers that was all there was.Sorry it didn't help . Coralynn in Quesnel

    3. It's taken a while but I finally made it to the archives here in BC. I have a copy of the Registration of Death certificate for Mary Gertrude Fawcett, Wilmer Monro Fawcett, Mary Fawcett & Robert Bennett Fawcett. These certificates are similar to death certificates as I understand it. Did you know about a Allison Fawcett? He is listed on the certificates as Robert's son and the informant on both Robert & Mary's death certificates. I am guessing you know about Margaret Elizabeth Little (nee Fawcett) too. If you are interested in these copies please let me know. Leeanne Victoria, BC ----- Original Message ----- From: Hugh C. 3. Hello In my continuing search for Edward SNELSON and Elizabeth Anne FRY who were married in Oaklake, Manitoba on 26 August, 1888, I have found a connection to a John Snelson in Australia. He has told me a small amount of information concerning this couple and their son Walter Edward SNELSON. Walter Edward SNELSON was born February 1903 in Canada and died July 6, 1973.in Canada Walter Edward SNELSON married Edith TOWSON at an unknown place and date. Edward SNELSON was born in Cheshire in 1859 and died 16 December 1953 in Canada Elizabeth Anne FRY was born in London, England in 1856 and died 21 June, 1943 in Canada. I have done very little research in Canada as I am first generation Canadian from England myself and most of my genealogical research has been in England. Could someone point me in the right direction to confirm the information given above. I would assume that these events all took place in Manitoba (as a first guess, anyhow). Edward Snelson was given Land Grants at NW and SW Section 6, Township 9, Range 25, W1. I have ordered the microfilm referring to this grant from the National Archives but have not received anything in three months. I hear this is not unusual. Can anyone tell me what information the film might give me. I have no idea. I am especially interested in a date. Will it tell me if he ever was granted the land? Any ideas on this gratefully received. Audrey in Ingersoll, Ontario.

    2. Shelley Hilton
    3. Hi Mary! I cannot offer you much help, but the BRACKEN family is also an elusive part of my family. The family seemed to move around ALOT! I believe that the family is originally from Ireland, probably the North. My Great Grandmother was Elsie Sophronia BRACKEN, b. 1879 in St. Vincent Twp., Grey County, Ontario, one of 10 children of Christie Bracken and Mary Jane Clark, married Richard "Chum" BOWES. The Bracken family has been very difficult to keep track of - they seem to move back and forth to the US, "Out West" to Manitoba and Saskatchewan, some staying, some coming back, etc., etc.!! I have not been able to sort them out I'm afraid!! Also, there is a Manitoba Bracken in my husband's tree, but I don't know any specifics on him yet. From a family bible, I have the information that: George E. BRACKEN married Ellen Edith HILTON, 2 Mar 1904 in ? The Hiltons lived in Winnipeg, Headingly, St. Francis Xavier, and area and Ellen Edith died in 1926 in Neepawa, Manitoba. That's it! Hope it's of some help! Perhaps we can eventually help each other?
