    2. Hi Marg: Yeah, this Manitoba Vital Statistics is the longest wait I have ever experienced. I ordered stuff ages ago, or so it seems when you want to get rolling on your stuff and all you need is a certificate. Actually, it took about 2 months last time I ordered from them. They are quick to reject though :-) Saskatchewan is a quick and snappy if you're lucky enough. Hope to hear from you when it comes in. I will keep you informed of my stuff. 3. Sorry my fingers betrayed me the other day, and I didn't catch it when I proof read. The posting should have read: I have a strange notation on a rather sketchy family tree which I believe was prepared about 1962. It states "Dan HINDLE (Wpg) Dairy Farm". Could have been connected to the surname of LATIMER, TATE or WOLSTENHOLME. Can anyone through any list on this for me? Gayle Mann in Manitoba

    2. Could the person (Gord I think) look to see if there is anything on the family of Alexander Black and Jemima Johnston, who also lived in the Rural Municipality of Franklin? They were my great-great grandparents. I would especially like anything on the kids, but whatever is available. I doubt if he was considered a "Good Citizen", as his grand-daughters described him as "the meanest" s.o.b. in Canada. Thanks, Lynton Stewart -- Attend the "Gathering", in Santa Ana, CA, June 24-25, 2000. It is a FREE genealogy get together for researchers of virtually any early New England family and many Canadian families. There will be computers, hundreds of CD's, books, and databases available. Disneyland, the Queen Mary, and Universal City are close by. For further Information, visit the Footprints Web Page: http://members.castles.com/ftprints
