Hi Toni I have 9 Robert Ferguson's in my file, so I need a little more information. Did your Ferguson's come from Scotland? Did they end up in Lanark, Ontario? . The original pioneers of my line of FERGUSON'S were Thomas FERGUSON and Mary BARR. They settled in Dalhousie Twp, Lanark Co, Ontario. Does this sound familiar? If so would love to hear from you again. Hello Carol, My name is Mary Turvey and I am the one who needed an address on Knox Church. Thank you very much for adding it to the site. My husband's grandmother was a twin to a Rev. Franklin Small who pastored Old Knox Church for many years in the early 1900's. I am trying to trace the line of John Herbert Gillson, b. 1870 in Collingwood, Ontario and m. 1894 to Frances Small, the twin to Rev. Franklin Small. John Herbert and Frances moved into Winnipeg about 1900, they had 4 children and John simply disappeared around 1908 or so..leaving his wife and 4 children. Frances' obit claims he died around 1907..yet..his children were told he had left?? Frances is buried in Elmwood Cemetary in Winnipeg. She d. in 1937. How can I check to see if maybe John did die and is buried in Elmwood? I live in Michigan (the U.S.A.) and am fairly new to genealogy. Would be most grateful for any leads on our elusive John Herbert..not to be confused with his son also named John Herbert, b. 1896 in Ontario. Thank you and happy hunting fellow genealogist. Its supposed to get up to 10 below Celcius today its nice and sunny so I'll see if I can start the tractor and bring up some firewood for next winter. Bye for now. Hugh

Dear Hugh: Thank you very much for the information! I live in Central Alberta, half way between Calgary and Red Deer. It was +19.6C here on Christmas Day and we had no snow at all! It finally snowed on January 11 and the temperature has been about -10C but a Chinook is on it's way and it is supposed to be +6C on Saturday. Thanks again, Marg "Hugh C. Hi Hugh, Thanks for the offer to do a look up, but it turns out that I won't need you to do so. A couple of other listers sent me URLs for two web sites where you can look up the postal codes for any address, and I have already used them. They are: http://www.canadapost.ca/CPC2/addrm/pclookup/pccivict.html for Canadian lookups, and http://www.refdesk.com/factpost.html for postal information in several countries, including U.S. and Canada. The U.S. Postal Service also maintains a zip-code lookup web site at: www.usps.gov/ncsc/ They all seem to be pretty easy to use, and can be very handy. I'm looking forward to seeing those lines that you have on my McAmmond family, and you are right, every little bit helps, even if it only confirms what one suspected. We have had several cool sunny days here in Seattle, but frosty at night. Today we are back to normal Seattle weather, raining and 40 degrees F. Thanks.
