There are a number of Campbells in and round Balmoral. It was quit common for the child to have their mothers maiden name or even grandmother's maiden name as a second name. There is a centennial book that was printed for that area with a number of family that had been around for 100 years [email protected] wrote: > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Surnames: Campbell, Scott, Fisher > Classification: Query > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/mNC.2ACE/1665.1 > > Message Board Post: > > I would like to know where your Campbell - Fisher names came from. I am searching for the family of George Campbell who was born 1817 in Ayrshire, Scotland and married Agnes Fisher. He died in 1886 and is is buried in the Balmoral, Manitoba Cemetery. I am looking for a possible son - Ivie Campbell who was buried in the Gowan, Saskatchewan Veterans Cemetery - died in 1914. Maybe there is a possible connection of the Campbell family here as the second name of a child is sometimes the maiden name of the mother. Is this a possibility? > > ==== CAN-MB-WINNIPEG Mailing List ==== > Visit Winnipeg, Manitoba GenWeb Project > http://www.rootsweb.com/~mbwinnip/
