    3. They are now under the name of Leatherdale Gardiner Funeral Chapels. They have three locations in Winnipeg. I believe their central office is at 232 Kennedy St., phone (204) 949 4878. I was in touch with them about two months ago and was advised that some of their older Gardiner Funeral Home records have been lost and/or water damaged. Just so's you know.     3. I have an obituary from the Tribune, 1944 and it says he was a "Member of the Canadian National Veterans' Association". I don't believe he served in any branch of the military or fought in any war. Does anyone know or have any idea what this is or where I could find out more about it? Thanks.

    3. If you go to the 411, and go to the town of Manitou, Manitoba. There are some there. Hope that this helps. They are quite a big family. I am sorry that I don't remember the first names. The kids were just ahead of me, or just behind me in school. And they lived on the north side of town and we lived close to the border, wayyyy on the South side of town.     3. A last attempt to trace anyone knowing of the family of BRUCE SAUNDERS [now deceased], his wife Sarah, born THOMSON, and their daughter, DONNA. I understand that Bruce Saunders was a wellknown citizen of the winnipeg area. Donna visited Scotland and England some years ago, visiting relatives of her grandfather, WALTER THOMSON, who was killed in World War 1. I believe that Sarah Saunders, nee Thomson, was alive two years ago but living in a nursing home. I am the grand-daughter of Walter Thomson's older brother, John THOMSON, who was born in Gretna, Dummfriesshire in 1881. Audrey Chessman.
