When I requested a death registration from the Vital Statistics Agency, I also included a sheet of info such as parents of the person and the possible locations for death. I lucked out and got a surprise, she wasn't buried in any of the locations that we had thought. Alan

Dear List, This is my first time on this list. I was hoping someone could help me. I'm trying to find the death date of my uncle whom I recently discovered died in Winnipeg. Here is what I know of him: Frederick JONES was born July 24th, 1910, in Petitcodiac, New Brunswick. Son of Herbert and May (KEITH) JONES. He faught during WWII with the Royal Canadian Army Dental Corps. He married Jennie PETERSON born in Saint John, New Brunswick but they separated after the War. They had the following children: Valerie, Frederick and Daryl. I believe Frederick died in the 1970's or 1980's. I'd like to order his military records which would give me lots of info, but I need a death date to do so. Any ideas on where I might get this death date would be appreciated. Thanks very much, William Jones, New Brunswick

Dana - Sorry I can't help with the first part of your question but I can tell you Ninga MB is not a suburb of Winnipeg but is a small town about 51 miles due south of Brandon, MB Dick ----- Original Message ----- From: "Dan & Dana Heim" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Saturday, November 09, 2002 9:35 AM Subject: [MBWINNIPEG-L] Knight > Is there anyone in the Winnipeg area that can look up Louis or Lewis Knight? > He owned a drug store there and left in the 1920's or 30's. Is there anyone in the Winnipeg area that can look up Louis or Lewis Knight? He owned a drug store there and left in the 1920's or 30's. I would like to know if there were any newspaper articles on the person or the store. He was married to a Minnie Shearn and if there is a marriage index telling who her parents were as i have no information on her at all. They probably were married prior to 1903. they had a son Geoffrey b.1903, my father, who was born in Ninga,Manitoba which I understand is a suburb of Winnipeg. I appreciate any info...Thanks Dana --
I am researching this distantly related family: James A. Carley b. ca 1850 in Franktown/Beckwith, Lanark Co., Ont (s/o Samuel & Mary (Forde) Carley). Moved to Winnipeg ca 1880. His wife was Margaret L (nee: ?) b. ca 1859, Ontario. Children: Edith Carley b. ca 1876, Ontario (prob. Lanark County) Edna Carley b. ca 1879, Ontario (prob. Lanark County) I strongly suspect a son - Samuel Williscraft Carley b. 30 May 1881, Winnipeg; d. 12 April 1917 in France. Said to have been the son of Mr. & Mrs. Alexander Carley of Winnipeg. I believe parents was actually Mr. & Mrs. James A. Carley....the A probably stood for Alexander. It is believed that James went (poss. for work) to Nelson, B.C. and died there on 7 Dec. 1903. The death registration states "body shipped to Winnipeg". I am still in the process of viewing the 1901 census for Winnipeg (BIG AREA!) but as yet have not located this family. If anyone has further information, I'd so like to hear from you. Thanks, Carolyn Murphy Monument, CO.
