A little while back, I was browsing through newsgroups, like you, are now, and came across a similar article that you could make thousands of dollars within weeks with only a simple initial investment of $6.00! So I thought, “Yeah right, this must be a scam”, but like most of us, I was curious, so I kept reading. Anyways, it said that you send $1.00 to each of the 6 names and addresses stated in the article. You then place your name and address at the bottom of the list at #6, and paste the article in at least 200 newsgroups. (There are thousands) No catch, that was it. So after thinking it over. I went on and tried it. I figured “What do I have to lose? $6.00 and 6 stamps.” So I invested the measly $6.00. AND GUESS WHAT!? Within 7 days, I started getting money in the mail! I was shocked! I am trying to locate a gr.aunt of mine who came from Ontario prior to the turn of the century and taught school in these locations. She moved to Winnipeg around 1906. The old Winnipeg Newspapers are located at the legislative library at http://www.gov.mb.ca/chc/leg-lib/index.html Also you could try http://www.newspaperarchive.com/ It will give the dates when the name appears and does of Manitoba's early newspapers. Unfortunately you have to pay to get more information. Carolyn Murphy wrote: > Can someone tell me which newspaper I would contact for - > An obituary of a long time Winnipeg resident, James A. Carley who died in B.C. on 7 Dec. 1903. Also his son Samuel Williscraft Carley who died in France on 12 April 1917. Because the family had lived in Winnipeg for many many years, I believe it would be there that an obituary could be found. > > Carolyn Murphy > > ==== CAN-MB-WINNIPEG Mailing List ==== > Free Webspace at RootsWeb > http://www.rootsweb.com/rootsweb/press/FPhistory.html > Create your Genealogy Website!
