Richard, Thought you might like to know. In 1947 (Henderson's Directories) St. Patricks (Anglican) Church was located at 612 Valour Road. Rev G E Phillips rector. It would be at the corner of Riddle. It was still there in 1978. I think it should be noted that the references I have made regarding Manitoba marriage licenses were regarding my parents', no one elses. That being said - my parents were married in St. Patrick's Church, Winnipeg, Manitoba, in 1929. The current Winnipeg telephone directory lists only one St. Patrick's Church (RC). My parents were not Catholic and therefore did not marry in this church. I must assume that the St. Patrick's Church where they were married no longer exists. ----- Original Message ----- From: "norman behan" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Monday, January 13, 2003 4:21 PM Subject: Re: [MBWINNIPEG-L] What info is recorded on Marriage Certificate? > What it the name of the church? Yes it does. On my parents' certificate it shows the name of the church but the address for the church is only Winnipeg. There's not much space on the form to show anything else. The church may have more info but that would likely be up to them as to how much info they wanted. ----- Original Message ----- From: "norman behan" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Monday, January 13, 2003 3:26 PM Subject: Re: [MBWINNIPEG-L] What info is recorded on Marriage Certificate? > Do it give the name of the church they were married in? I have my parents' marriage certificate. They were married in Winnipeg, MB, in 1929. Their names as well as the names of both pairs of parents are shown but there is no space on the certificate for places of birth or of current abode for any of them. ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Monday, January 13, 2003 1:21 PM Subject: [MBWINNIPEG-L] What info is recorded on Marriage Certificate? > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Classification: Query > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/mNC.2ACE/1911 > > Message Board Post: > > Have been looking for birth info of my grandmother Margaret George Houston. She immigrated from the U.S. about 1904 and married Leslie Cann in Winnipeg, probably around 1909/10. I have my mother's MB birth certificate and for her mother's birthplace the entry is "not given". I have my grandmother's obit and it lists Minneapolis, but I need her parent's name before I can order a birth certificate. For marriage certificates circa 1910 are parent's names shown, and is there a printable application form on the internet for marriage certificates? Thanks.

Hi I'm new to the list and would like to find more information on Gilbert C Parfitt. He came to Winnipeg from England in 1912 and remained until his death in 1966. After service in the Canadian Expeditionary Force during WW1 he became a leading Winnipeg Architect, noted for many buildings including the Winnipeg Cenotaph. I would be most grateful for any information relating to Gilbert Parfitt. Many thanks George Jones Cambridge, England
