    1. [CAN-MB-GHOSTTOWNS] Greetings and Intro from List Adinistrator
    2. Dittmar, Frederick M.
    3. Greetings to all Canadian Provinces Ghost Town mail list subscribers. My name is Fred Dittmar and I am here to offer any help and direction I can. Although I'm not living in the province I may have some information to give you directions in researching. There are now, July 2010, Ghosttown mail lists on Rootsweb, one each for all of the Provinces and Territories of Canada. Subscribe to those that interest you and post Names, Locations, History and or questions for others to help you and you them. VisIt http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com<http://rootsweb.com%3chttp:/rootsweb.com/%3e> and then Mail 'list index' then the International list CANADA and the Province of interest to subscribe. In order to stimulate the Ghosttown mail lists I'm writing to ask some questions of you the subscribers. No one on the list will bite or says Boo to any questions or comments so feel free to write, ask, question and talk with others. Where do you live? What Ghost Town or area are you interested in? What area was your Ghost Town located in? Miles N-E-S-W of a current town. Do you have the GPS coordinates? Do you know if there are any remnants left of the town? Foundations? Buildings? Cemeteries? Do you have any information about the time line of the town? Did it have a post office? Dates? If a cemetery is there is it currently maintained? Has it been surveyed and is it posted on the internet? What's the link? Do you know if the Province has posted a Historic Sign or Marker noting the town or area? Please cite any sources (book, publication, family history) where you found the information. Thank you all. This is your mail list and it only works when you post and others answer and add to it. Let's build an informative list and honor those who have passed. Thank you, Fred - Mail List Administrator Frederick M.
