    3. I live in Winnipeg and the Red flows through here but I can tell you that it certainly is frozen. Some parts of it are cleared for skating, and there are all kinds of things such as cross country skiing, dog sledding events, snowmobiling that go on once it is frozen. 3. Gail, I'd like to thank you for this small insight to a Winnipeg winter. I just learned my great aunt Jessie Hollis Ross was a domestic servant living in Winnipeg in 1901 with the William Ross family. She was only about 13 at the time. I can imagine her during a Winnipeg winter. For girls of her station, it must have been hard, but I'm sure there were moments when she could have maybe done some of the things you mention. If anyone has any information about this William Ross family or Jessie's parents, Donald and Jessie Mae Hollis Ross between 1894-1901, I'd appreciate hearing from you. My email is mscaleb@texas.net. Wishing you all the best from a certainly different (and warmer) climate, Sharon Shumate, Austin, TX Gail Peltz wrote: > I live in Winnipeg and the Red flows through here but I can tell you > that it certainly is frozen.
