Alice Mary Garant (née Thibodeau) April 28, 1922 - April 06, 2004 Funeral arrangements by Glen Eden Funeral Home (Winnipeg) ALICE MARY GARANT (NEE Thibodeau) After a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer, Alice Mary Garant passed away peacefully with her family by her side at Riverview Health Care Centre on Sunday, April 4, 2004. There is a Link Death Cannot Sever; Love and Remembrance Last Forever. Alice was born on April 28, 1922 in Piney, Manitoba and later moved to Winnipeg. She married Leo Garant and raised six children. Family was always important to her and getting together for many family occasions always made her shine. Alice will always be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She will also be remembered as one who worked tirelessly. During World War Two, she worked for McDonald Aircraft and later while raising her six children, worked for Clay Law Jewelers. After retiring, Alice cared for her grandchildren and was a member of the St. John Cantius Church and belonged to the St. Joseph's Seniors Club. She also enjoyed bowling, bingo, making crafts as gifts and traveling to visit family. Left to cherish her memory are her children: Harold (Angela), Sheryle, Diane (Jim) McCormick of Saskatoon, Andrea (Barry) Didych of Dauphin, Russell (Janet), Lorrie Bahry (Dale Benson) of Regina; her sister Viola Nick; her grandchildren: Corrina, Rene (Jana), Jamie (Cheryl), Miranda (Mike), Robert, Nicole, Chantel (Randy), Deane (Scott), Scott and Colby; great grandchildren Autumn, Hunter, Bryndon, Karah, Realie, Celine, Ameleise and Mikey, and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Alice was predeceased by her parents, Sarah and Harvey Thibodeau, husband Leo, sisters Adelaide and Barb Lamirande, brothers Aubrey, Harvey and Clifford, and twin grandsons. To all of those who provided such tender loving care to our mother, we give our undying gratitude. A special thank you to Anna, Linda, Angelita, Jeanette and Jim Moran. In lieu of flowers, if you wish, a donation may be made in Alice's memory to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave., Wpg., MB, R3E 0V9. Prayer service will be held on Tuesday, April 6, at 7:00 p.m., at St. John Cantius R.C. Parish, 846 Burrows Ave. Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, April 7, at 11:00 a.m. also at the church, with Father Henryk Uczniak officiating. Interment will follow at Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. "My life on earth is truly past. I've loved you all to the very last.
