    3. Since I'm the guy that started this I hope that I can put an end to it. I have never had a request for assistance with regard to a look-up in BC that was not fulfilled. I have had material mailed to me (free!), and scanned and e-mailed. In every case full registrations. Believe me, the volunteers in BC have access to an excellent system and they use it to help others. No, Manitoba is not the worst. It at least has an on-line index, something Ontario does not have. However, in Ontario, I can go to the library or the local LDS Centre and look up the indexes and request registration microfilms so I can look up the material myself. The local LDS has the microfilms for marriages onsite but indexes only for births and deaths. As far as other provinces are concerned they appear to be worse than Manitoba. My main lament is that all provinces should be on the same page. Offer access to the same level of material. If they want to charge then digitize the images and work out a reasonable fee schedule as in Scotland where you get 30 page credits for about 15$C.
