It turns out the the eldest child of John Firth and Maria Hall was also named Matilda Ann, and that she married a man named Robert James SMITH. The children of Matilda Firth and John Smith are: 1. John Firth Smith, b: 20 Apr, 1873, Midland Ont. 2. Maggie A. Smith, b: July 1876 3. Steven Hairsine Humberston Smith, b: 1877 4. Louisa Smith, b: abt 1882 Following the death of Robert James Smith, Matilda Ann and the youngsters came to Manitoba, and they settled in the Swan River area. They were also accompanied by a couple of the children from Robert's first marriage to Elizabeth Honeyford. Randi, do you still have that information that you had dug up on John Firth Smith?
