Where is Golden Stream MB? It's a new one on me but I did find this on another web page. "Our next stop was at Gladstone and, for some reason; we sat at the station for about ten minutes. I was quite nervous about the delay and watched constantly for the headlight of Second No. 9 to appear behind us. My nervousness was well founded because very shortly a headlight showed up at Golden Stream, one station behind us." Also, on a web page listing rail rates, it mentions both Golden Stream and Gladstone are the same distance from Thunder Bay, 531.7 miles and the same distance from Vancouver, 1502.5 miles/ so....I expect Golden Stream is very close to Gladstone, Manitoba or about 80 miles West of Winnipeg. Hi Bette, I couldn't find it either! Could it be that Golden Stream was one of the small towns that just died? There was one town in the Interlake auctioned off this summer. Possibly, too, it could have amalgamated with another. It must have been really close to Gladstone for the writer to have seen the headlight, even at night. On the (new) map I have, Westbourne is the only town that is even on the rail line now, and it is about 20 miles SE. Plumas is NW but it is not a straight track line. You have piqued my curiosity!
