I too have been unsuccessful in locating the homestead of our ancestors who settled in the Dauphin area around 1905. The actual location could be Mossy River, Fork River, Fishing River, Sifton, Ethelbert areas too, which are close to Dauphin and which the remaining relatives remember the older generation talking about as aunties and uncles farm locations. Is there another source one of you could suggest? I'm researching Nellie Kotlarchuk/Kitlarchuk and George Miller. I was hoping to cross reference with census info but John was not in Manitoba for the 1871 census and had moved to the City of Winnipeg by the 1901 census! Were any property assessments done in the west? In Ontario I was able to use the yearly property assessments to track one family.
