Bette; Thanks for the information! It is great to get a picture of the era. I notice that John Cameron is not mentioned. Joseph Young's parents stayed in Ontario and are buried there(William Young and Eliza Hobbes). Mary Ellen Campbell's ( husband - John Cameron) parents were John Pratt Campbell and Margaret Fitzgerald. John Pratt Campbell homesteaded on the Saskatchewan River near Rapid City. He came "out from Ontario" in 1878 and then sold the land in 1882. He mentions paying his $320.00 at the Minedosa land office. Apparently he applied for abandonment because in the spring of 1880 he had a lake 20 feet deep. Then John Pratt Campbell left to homestead in Saskatchewan. His son Frederick had a homestead in Manitoba, as well as a David Campbell who might have been related. If any of these characters are mentioned, I would love the information! Thanks again, Alan >
