    3. The Hudson's Bay Company Archives are accessible online at: http://www.gov.mb.ca/chc/archives/hbca/index.html Its archives are owned by the Government of Manitoba and administered as a division of the Provincial Archives of Manitoba in Winnipeg. They're a bit slow in responding to inquiries (6 to 8 weeks) but they're very thorough. You should receive an acknowledgement by email in a week or two after your initial inquiry. Make sure you provide all the information you have regarding dates, ships, locations, and any other pertinent information. I've accessed a lot of HBC info on my own family in Quebec, Ontario, Manitoba and Saskatchewan going back to the 1700's. This is a HUGE archive, and most data is not in digital form. They receive a lot of requests so all searches are done manually. Hence the wait.
