My Haynen Ancestors came from Montreal, Quebec and went to Winnipeg, Manitoba. If I was doing research about their time in Montreal, I would subscribe to CAN-MONTREAL-IRISH-L Mailing List as an example. I would not be researching in CAN-MANITOBA-L or CAN-MB-WINNIPEG-L mailing lists. Looking for information about their time in Montreal on the Manitoba list would be cross-posting. And this is no benefit for other researchers. RootsWeb created many Mailing Lists for specific areas. If I was researching my Haynen Ancestors in Manitoba and said they came from Montreal, that is appropriate. This might be a helpful clue for someone providing me information about my Haynen ancestors. Karen S' posting "Manitoba families found in "Trails to Mannville" " is appropriate. It is about families from Manitoba. It is not about families from Alberta. STOP NOW - Any new postings from subscribers complaining about restrictions will be unsubscribed. And this is the web page for the CAN-MANITOBA-L Mailing List. http://www.rootsweb.com/~canmb/canmanitoba.htm Phyllis Haynen -- Phyllis' Family Genealogy http://www.phyllis.ws/tree.htm Manitoba, Canada GenWeb http://www.rootsweb.com/~canmb/ County Down, Ireland GenWeb http://www.rootsweb.com/~nirdow/
