I have letters of Charles McIntosh, staff sargeant, 2nd Batallion 1st Royal Regiment recruiting at Hamilton, near Glasgow, Scotland, - Royal Cumberland Militia, whitehaven, England, 1834 as well as while he was in Montreal Barracks, written June 3rd 1839,as well as his service papers. In his letters which he wrote to Toronto, Ont he states he has relatives in the western part of Canada.
