Funny - I've always heard that the cause of death would be blanked out unless requested. I've ordered several death certs and the cause of death was always blanked out. Unless, of course, this is something new. I would suggest asking specifically for the cause of death when you fill in the form, just in case - tell them you're doing a medical genealogy!!
