I am trying to find old Baden-Wuerttemberg birth, baptismal, or any other information for James (gemme, Jimmy, Gjomme) Hiens. He was born about 1640 in Wuerttemberg. He was a Protestant, possibly Lutheran. He may have had a sister or neice named Catharina Hiens who married a man named Hans Fischer on 15 April 1672 in wuerttemberg Protestant Church. Hiens was a brilliant artist, linguist, and mathematician. He may have had relatives in Scandinavia. He migrated from Germany to England then to Santo Domingo; and from Santo Domingo Robert Cavelier de La Salle took him to Gulf Coast of Texas. After La Salle's 1687 Assasination, Hiens made a brilliant, "Secret La Salle Monuemnt and Historical Marker," telling where La Salel died and is buried at Poteau River near Poteau, Oklahoma.
