Just a note for anyone who is faced with the above situation. Your mail-reader has a trash-can. All deleted mail goes there. If you will set your reader so that the trash doesn't get emptied automatically, you'll be able to retrieve accidentally deleted messages. Another means of retrieving such messages is to use the rootsweb archives.
