Eugene, Oregon 22 Feb 2005 Eugene-Register Guard SENETHEA MEYER Visitation will be held Feb 23 and a memorial service will be held Mar 22 for Senethea Meyer of Eugene who died Feb 18 of age related causes. She was 94. Meyer was born March 29, 1910, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, to George and Mary Meyer. She moved to Powers and graduated from Powers High School. In 1926, she became the first graduate of the Bible Standard Theological School. which later became Eugene Bible College. Ordained as a minister for Open Bible Standard Churches, she worked as a licensed minister, evangelist and a pastor in the United States and Canada for many years. She worked for Meier & Frank Co. in Portland for eight years. Meyer served on the staff of Eugene Bible College for more than 50 years, as an instructor, registrar, bookstore manager, bursar and director of alumni association. She previously lived in Myrtle Point and Penticton, BC. She was a Sunday School superintendent at Calvary Temple in Springfield for 10 years, starting in 1953, and at Lighthouse Temple in Eugene in the 1970's. She helped raise money to build Meyer Hall men's dormitory at Eugene Bible College, which was named for her. The college's Senethea Meyer Scholarship, which she also helped fund, is annually awarded to women preparing for Christian ministry. She is survived by many nieces and nephews. Wednesday's visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene. Burial will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Lincoln Memorial Park in Portland. A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. March 22 at Eugene Bible College. Musgrove Family Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
