Trying to locate from where in Canada my husband's family came. This is all the information I have: William WILSON (I got his name from his son's marriage certificate) married before 1874: Elizabeth McVICAR b Oct 1846 in Canada (from 1900 Riverside, California census) children: Alexander M. b May 1874, in Canada (1900 census) Molly b abt 1876 Jean b Feb 1877 in Canada (1900 census) James Rae b 14 Mar 1878 in Canada (1900 census) Sadie b abt 1880 Bob b abt 1882 --William was not in the 1900 census--Elizabeth was HOH. --According to two housholds, they immigrated 1884 or 1885. --According to my father-in-law, Elizabeth had a brother named Joseph McVICAR who owned(?) a pharmacy in Newport Beach, Calif. --James Rae (my husband's grandfather) had a Scottish-sounding accent according to my husband.
