    3. Hello Darlene, The first place you might want to search is at the Manitoba Genealogical Society at 1045 St. James. They have a web site at http://www.mts.net/~mgsi/ that will tell you their hours and phone number. It only costs $5 to spend the day there and the volunteers will be able to guide you. Also since you are going back a few years and there is a church connection you might want to go to the Legislative Library at 200 Vaughan Street. They have a web site at http://www.gov.mb.ca/chc/leg-lib/index.html and it may be helpful to let them know ahead of time the type of information you are seeking. They should have church records. They also have all of the old Manitoba newspapers and you might like to see the Selkirk Record (1885-1895). If it was the closest newspaper to Mapleton it might carry a longer obituary for you. There is a book you can get at the Winnipeg library called "Selkirk: The First Hundred Years" by Barry Potyondi. There might be some information in that book about the minister and his church that would help. You can get it through inter library loan. Good luck in your search, Karen >From: "Allen & Darlene Dowhaniuk" <[email protected]> >Reply-To: [email protected] >To: [email protected] >Subject: [CAN-Manitoba] Selkirk Manitoba >Date: Fri, 3 Jan 2003 16:03:08 -0800 > >I am stuck and need some help !! > >Rev. 3. Karen, Thanks so much for the info. I live in a small town on the West Coast and do not have access to a lot of resources. I will check out the websites and see if I can use anything there. The Selkirk library did go through some local history books for me but couldn't find anything. Thanks again.
