Hi aain Lois, I will check out this site. I have also received information from Darlene in B.C. in which she gve me the information on the McLeod's from a book she has -- "Arcola ~ Kisbey GOLDEN HERITAGE Mountain Hills to Prarie Flats First Printing 1987 The following was taken from Pages 617 and 618 McLEOD Family by Barbara Laundry Arichbald and Mary McLeod moved with their family from Tara, Ont., in the 1890s. They settled on the farm two miles south-west of Arcola, and later retired to Arcola. Archibald died in 1918, and Mary in 1927. They had four children. Grace (Luckhart) had three children. She died in the 1960s. Maude married Rod McEwan and had three children. She died in the 1960s. Edna died in 1927. Thomas, the fourth child. took over the farm. He married Beulah Stauffer and they lived on the farm until their retirement in 1955, when they moved to Burnaby, B.C. Tom died in 1963 and Beulah still lives in Burnaby. Their daughters, Marie and Barbara, grew up and attended school in Arcola. Marie married Dick Rae. She lived in Vancouver until her death in 1979. Barbara married Frank Laundry and they have one son. They live in Burnaby, B.C. My parents were faithful members of the United Church in Arcola. Dad was also acting superintendant of the Sunday School at times and active in other aspects of the church. Mother belonged the Excelsior Homemakers Club for many years. Although times were tough during the dry years of the thirties, we all managed well. Many must remember those church fowl suppers held each fall and still wonder where the goodies came from. Everyone gorged themselves and the ladies worked hard. They also probably remember the concerts after, where my Dad usually gave one of his readings or recitations. He would look around the audience and see who was enjoying themselves and who didn't. Although I have not been back to Arcola since 1954, I have good memories of my growing up days in the Arcola district." This answers most of my questions. Just in case I can't get the information for a few days (I work in another town with the ambulance for 6 and 7 day shifts), I'm sure the librarian would have absolutely no problem looking up the names for you, it's a very small town and the people are very kind.
