Doreen Manley-Joined the United Church in Basswood on Oct 4, 1959 Freeborn family -p 58, lived in the MaTavish District (later this district was named Fairmount) 10 miles northwest of Minnedosa. Pioneer family. The first Post Office was established in 1877, under the name of Little Saskatchewan, N.W. Territories. The name was changed to Hall's Ford between April and December of the same year. The first newspaper was printed during 1882 and was called the Minnedosa Star. Continued for one year and then the Minnedosa Tribune took over. Another newspaper the Mercury ran from 1908-1911. Wish there was more information.
