My husband's grandmother Mary Winter married Nicholas Stadnyk of Moose Jaw Saskatchewan in Elma in 1918. I am researching My husband's maternal grandmother, Mary Winter, daughter of John Winter and Josepha Sojka. Mary was born in Elma, MB in Eastern MB near Whitemouth. Her father had a homestead at Elma at Section 5 Twp 11 Range 12 EPM. Thanks to the information on your list, I have contacted the Manitoba Archives, and they are preparing a copy of the homestead application. I believe that my husband's g grandmother moved to Winnipeg when she was older. When I have time, I will be researching the death records and burial locations in Winnipeg. I am also interested in the immigration patterns in the province at the turn of the century, and very interested in Polish immigrants.
