    3. Hello Mary, I will be at the Legislative Library in the next week or so, either Friday or, after the holiday weekend here, on Tuesday. I will have a look at 1911 for you and see if I can find your Olander, or other spellings, in the Henderson's Directory (a city directory). By the way - I am told that the 1911 Census will be online at the beginning of August - this information was from the staff at the Legislative Library. Library and Archives Canada has already scanned the 1911 records. Hope everyone enjoys the searches in the 1911 - it is quite a step forward for genealogists and is the result of some hard work by interested parties. Go the the Global Genealogy website for the story. regards Janice Jones Winnipeg

    1. Marriage James Blair AITKEN to Margaret Garvie TAYLOR in 1894
    2. Jean & John Johnston
    3. Hello Janice, Only if you have time, I would be grateful if you would please look for records of the marriage of James Blair AITKEN to Margaret Garvie TAYLOR in Manitoba in 1894 in the Legislative Library. I have seached the Manitoba Vital Statistics but their marriage is not there. Known facts: Both arrived in Canada from Scotland in 1892. In 1901 Canada census they were living in Pipestone, Brandon District, Manitoba James Blair Aitken's obituary (he died in British Columbia in 1951) mentions that they married in Manitoba in 1894. United Church records for the Reston-Pipestone area held in the University of Winnipeg archives do not have any registers from that pastoral charge for the early 1890's. The record of registers held by the local congregations in Reston-Pipestone indicate that the oldest marriage register is for 1896 and onward. Thankyou. John Johnston New Zealand
