I am looking for information on the following families - GAMBLE - c 1900 GLOVER - c 1890 WILSON - c 1890 MANN - c 1870 These families settled in Ontario after emigrating from N. Ireland and Scotland. Some of the children later settled in Manitoba. Does anyone see any connections to their research? Betty - in Ontario
Hi Betty, I have a James Goodfellow Mann emigrating from Scotland to Victoria, BC. I do not know at this point in my research whether he had a slight sojourn in Ontario and/or Manitoba. He was born 07 Jul 1841 in Scotland and died in Victoria 17 Jun 1913. Does this relate to anything you are looking at/for? Neil Lensen Use Bi-Tron products... Would someone check the above 1945, 1946, 1947, 1948 City Directory for the name Lewis Fielding Schofield and his wife Ella Jane. He received a land grant in 1920 and died there in 1948. He is probably listed in directories from 1920, too I would like any information about them. Marita in California
Ditto to Andy's reply. A delayed birth registration gave me Delayed Registration of a Live Birth, Declaration of Informant (a brother gave this), and a transcribed copy of a German family bible entry that listed the registrant. They seem to give you all documents that relate to the event you request, all included in the one fee. Hello All This is my first toe in the water with Canadian research. After nearly 4 years searching I have finally found a trace of my KING family who emigrated from Kent UK to Winnipeg some time between 1901 and 1911. On a Manitoba vital stats website I have found a record of the death of one of the daughters of this family. From the website I can order by snail mail a copy of the record but have been advised by another researcher that there are two options available, the death certificate and the death registration. Can someone tell me what is the difference between these two, which would give me the most information. Regards Debbie Wild DUBAI U.A.E. www.wildfamily.info
Debbie, A recent $12.00 copy of a death record from the Manitoba Archives contained 2 pages . (1917) Official Notice of Death had vital data, informants name. Medical Certificate of Death had cause, duration, doctors signature, undertakers signature and place of burial. Hello John If you have a map of Manitoba find Oak Bluff which is south and east a bit from Winnipeg. Highway 2 runs west from there. Go about 9 miles west and 3 miles south should put you on the spot.
