    3. Hi Colleen: I live in eastern Manitoba and I cannot find an address or telephone # for either of the churches you mention. Over time they may have become combined with other churches in the area. I suggest that you write to: Roman Catholic Church, Archdiocese of St. Boniface, 151 Cathedrale, Winnipeg, Mb., R2H 0H6 They should be able to advise where the records for the two churches you mention are kept. Good Luck, Ann

    3. Elaine: - burial records for Foxwarren Cemetery, as well as for Minniska Cemetery, near Russell? It's highly likely they are kept by the cemetery. Most small town in MB haven't published them unless they have been documented for the Manitoba Gen Society. You might check out their web page so see what they have to offer or else write directly to the cemetery. I expect if you address a letter to the cemetery using a 'reasonable postal code' it will get there. Good luck, Bette

    3. Colleen, I agree with Lois, the towns you are looking in, Elmo and Whitemouth, are sufficiently small enough that anything addressed directly to the church, with the town name and province, plus a general postal code (find one that seems to fit by searching the internet) will surely get there. 3. Hi Colleen, Here is the URL for Canada Telephone Directories on the Internet http://www.teldir.com/eng/namc/ca I tried Canada411 and Yellow.ca At Yellow.ca, when I entered Church for Whitemouth, MB, four churches appeared. Nothing for Elma. Maybe someone on this list lives in the area who has a telephone directory can help. I would bookmark this URL for future reference, though. You and I had some correspondence on this family a few months ago. I was interested in the connection to the DUCKLOW family through the marriage of Hannah Jane Grasby to Edmund Ducklow. I'm not entirely clear about the info you gave me back then. Were there two Hannah Jane Grasby's? I show Hannah Jane (b: 26 Aug 1860), daughter of William Grasby and Elizabeth White. I then show John Franklin Grasby as her brother (b: abt 1862), and that he married Hannah Falkingham (b: abt 1865). The only child I show for John Franklin Grasby is Aaron (b: abt 1890). Did Aaron have a sister also named Hannah Jane? As you know, my interest in this is only peripheral to my own reseach on the POOLE and DUCKLOW families, but I don't want to have inaccurate info in my database. I am keeping my eyes peeled for anything I may happen across on the Grasbys, and shall contact you if I happen across anything. Kind regards, Patricia Sherman

    3. Hi, again, Lise....Here's some tidbits on Wolseley.... During the rebellion of 1870 in Red River, Col. John Garnet Wolseley, with 1,200 soldiers, was sent into Manitoba to restore order (read: overthrow Riel's provisional government). As the armed troops were unable to travel through the United States, the principal transportation route between Eastern and Western Canada. Col. Wolseley's troops left Toronto in May, reached Fort Frances early in August and Fort Garry on August 24. Certainly his troops moved about quite a bit, most likely between the Manitoba forts such as Ellice, and into Saskatchewan, etc. Most of their time however was spent around Red River, as Wolseley was the new governor. Hope this can get you started...
