    1. [CAN-Manitoba] re Wardell & Leech
    2. jallendale
    3. Hello Judy, I have gone through the 264 page Virden Story, 1957 and the 242 page Virden Review, 1970 and there is no sign of Wardell. Under Woodnorth there is only one line for Leech. "Mrs. S.E. Leech, now living with her daughter at Muir, Manitoba, gave leadership in the community, and was active in farm organizations of the formative period of the district." Under Hillside, Mayville and Scarth is..."Jack Leech, son of a pioneer family, built the Alplaza Dance Hall in 1963, just half a mile from where the school stood." Is Leach the same family... 1966 Mr. and Mrs. Robert Leach celebrated their Diamond Wedding Anniversary, December 19, when an afternoon and evening reception was held .... And ... January 1 1970, Mr. Robert Leach of The Sherwood formerly of Elkhorn, celebrated his 95th birthday. .... Or Leitch ? ...The Leitch brothers built a flour mill in Oak Lake in the eighties and farmers for many miles ... Cheers, Del

There is information on Camp Hughes at this address: http://www.taniwha.mb.ca/MHSMb/hughes/hughes.html It is about 20 minutes east of here and we go there two or three times a year to observe the birds and sense the quietness. 3. Karen, Did you suggest to Hugh that he volunteer and suggest his link for the Manitoba GenWeb cemeteries section? I will be updating the various GenWeb projects for the Christmas/New Year/Holiday. If Hugh would like to volunteer and suggest his link, I could add it then. 3. Thanks so much Karen... I also caught my typo! :-) ... corrected above. I'll be following your suggestions ... using the website AND waiting for the death certificate. I was IN Winnipeg in August but didn't have the death information at that time. I could have explored the cemeteries myself . Instead, I was looking for a marriage and children for Thomas Hay CHAPMAN ... not being aware that he died so young. I do have a contact who will look at the obits when she has time. Much info to come and I appreciate your help.
