Dear Karen, Thank you so much. How could I obtain a copy? Also is the information regarding the deaths and marriages covering MacDonald? I found my Great Grandfathers gravesite but I'm unable to find his wife, Elmyra Downing? She would have died before 1933. The family migrated to Manitoba in the early 1900's from IL. I found a photo of my Mother and a group of girls called Girls in Training. If anyone is interested as to names, they could contact me. [email protected] Thank you so very much. Hello Fred, I see that the MGS has not transcribed the cemetery in Neepawa yet. The Riverside Cemetery in Neepawa has a beautiful web page at http://www.town.neepawa.mb.ca/cemetery2.html and at the bottom of the page it has Contact: Jack Follows, cemetery office, (204)476-7648. I would think he has the cemetery records and could give you information on Lottie. If he only gives you the date she was buried then it's just a matter of looking back a week in the Neepawa newspaper for her obit. If you get the exact grave location there may be volunteers willing to go to the cemetery and take a picture of the gravestone with hopefully the exact date of death on it. Hope this helps, Karen >From: "Fred Rush" <[email protected]> >Reply-To: [email protected] >To: [email protected] >Subject: [CAN-Manitoba] Manitoba Semi-weekly death notices >Date: Sun, 22 Dec 2002 00:02:35 -0500 > >Hello Karen S > >I am not sure if you can help & also I am not sure if this is practicle. > >A deceased relative of mine-Lottie Raby Rush died in 1922 & is buried in >Neepawa Cemetery but I can't find the day she died as the United Church >there has info only until 1927; the rest of the records go to the Archives. > > >Can you help me? I am wondering if anyone on the list has any information on the Leeson family, who lived in the Brandon-Souris area. They were farmers in the Beresford area but also members lived in Portage La Prairie, Souris and Brandon, late 1800's and early 1900's. One daughter married Frank Armson, a telegraph operator.
Dear Thomas I have relative of FENNER name who came from various parts of England including Essex. I can trace back to a John (Jack) Fenner born 1848. His son Benjamin Joseph b. 1883 emigrated to Toronto in early 1900s and was one of the pioneers of Xray technology in Canada. If anything sounds related, I would be glad to share. April 16, 1900 page 6 column 2 OBITUARY The news comes from Oak Bluff, of the death of Thos. Wishart, a farmer of the district who died Thursday in his 65th year, after an illness of three months. I do know that there is an obituary for Thos. Wishart on April 30, 1900 in the Manitoba Semi-Weekly Free Press but I don't have that paper anymore. Hello Shannah, Deaths LYNCH-At the General Hospital on May 21, Michael Lynch, aged 73 years. Toronto and Guelph papers please copy. We got lucky with this man as there also was an obituary on page 5, column 5. PIONEER DEAD Another Old Timer Has Joined the Great Silent Majority. Mr. Michel Lynch, a well known and much respected citizen, was buried yesterday morning. The funeral service was held at St. Mary's church, from which place the well attended procession proceeded to the Fort Rouge cemetery. Mr. Michael Lynch came to Manitoba as a member of the force under the command of Sir Garnet Wolseley during the first Reil rebellion in "69. Since that time till his demise he had been employed by the Hudson's Bay company. His death occurred at the general hospital after a short and painful illness during which he received every kindness and medical attention. Mr. Michael Lynch leaves a wife and grown up daughter to mourn his loss. As a mark of esteem for an old servant Messrs. Wm. Clark and Beecher as commissioned officers, represented the Hudson's Bay company at the funeral services besides a number of employees of the company. Hi everyone, Is it possible that Raymond Larocque (b. 10 Aug 1868) was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba. But which church would record his baptism, marriage & death? Since he was born in Manitoba according to the 1901 Canadian census; his children were born in the USA and returned to Canada after 1901, then he and his wife must have died and are buried somewhere most probably in Winnipeg. Plus I found 2 Western Land Grants (1870-1930) under the name of Raymond Larocque: 1) SW34-29-28-W1 and 2) SW19-10-4-W1. Can someone tell me which municipality or town they would be found? That could be a clue as to where he used to live? Thanks.
