As I turned around I smelled a horrible 'dirty body' smell, and there standing behind me were two poor homeless men. As I looked down at the short gentleman, close to me, he was 'smiling'. His beautiful sky blue eyes were full of God's Light as he searched for acceptance. He said, 'Good day' as he counted the few coins he had been clutching. The second man fumbled with his hands as he stood behind his friend. I realized the second man was mentally challenged and the blue-eyed gentleman was his salvation. I held my tears as I stood there with them. The young lady at the counter asked him what they wanted. He said, 'Coffee is all Miss' because that was all they could afford. Good Morning Thanks for responding so quickly. I do not see any family names in your line that correspond to my other family lines. My main lines are Decarie, Ouellet, Jerome and Gallant. My mother's side are Ouellet and Gallant. She was born in New Brunswick and her father was born in PEI. Her mother was a Ouellet that started in the Isle of Orleans outside of Quebec and moved to New Brunswick. My father's family is Decarie and Jerome. His father was born in Montreal and all of his ancestors are from there. His mother was born in Agawam, Ma. but her parents came from the Chambly area, south of Montreal. I have been able to trace back the families to France except for the Jeromes. I can only go back to my great grandfather. Beyond that, I have no trace. My first language was French as we lived with my grandparents the first 4 years of my life and French was spoken most of the time. I can understand most , read somewhat but can write little. It helps out with my research. I only found out about Sarah a few years back and have yet to visit Deerfield. I had driven thru the village but never stopped. It has been restored by a very wealthy couple. I now have the incentive to see it. I do not have her birth certificate as I have yet to trace it down. (I have been too busy with my brick wall - Jerome.) It will be something to do. Have you been able to fill out all of your family trees?
