Thank you Stella for the information on the CATERs and offer to check out the city directories for that time period. It is quite possible that this was an apartment complex of some kind, but my curiosity has me wondering if there was some kind of a children's boarding home there at this facility. The child, Francis or Frank BURCHAT, that was left behind in Vancouver was only about 7 or 8 years old at the time so he would have had to have been left in the care of others.
