To all:- This is a very special request for one who has been working for us since March 1999 -- we did obtain the 1906 census, but Senator Lorna Milne's Bill S-18 and its safe passage would make many of us very happy to have the 1911 census. The Senate of Canada will not meet again until March 21, the beginning of Easter Week -- only four days for work, as I am certain nobody will work on Good Friday. At present I have several petitions which seem to be getting very lonely. Yes, I did ask EVERYONE to send at least 10 signatures to Senator Lorna Milne's office with FREE postage in Canada. I did hear from three people telling me they had sent petitions. We are facing a shortage of time -- it would be nice if all would agree to move Bill S-18 OUT of the Senate by Easter, and there is no reason why this cannot be done. Just because one person stops discussion on a topic HE does not like, is no reason why another cannot re-open the discussion. Frankly, due to Parliament being prorogued whenever we have had a census bill, this is really the FIRST one that might make it. Let's give Senator Lorna Milne petitions to use as backing that WE desire the census records. I am certain veterans or families of same would feel doubly honoured if the census records and Bill S-18 were released and passed by May 8th, the 60th anniversary of VE-Day. I know many might not have celebrated that date -- but I did!! Just imagine Page 1 of the Senate and Non-Resident petitions are Easter eggs -- I will assist with delivery of same should any arrive at my home. Teenagers have spare time on school break -- they might enjoy filling up Page 2 -- street names not necessary. Muriel M.
