Hi Gail Take a look at the following site http://visit-vancouverisland.com/ It is a "Big Island" , 12,000 square miles, 62 mile wide, 282 miles long. Bus service outside of the major cities and towns varies greatly, if you plan to travel to many parts of the island you might want to consider renting a car part of the time See also http://victoriabc.com/ http://www.AccommodationsBC.com/vancouverisland/ http://www.tourismmall.victoria.bc.ca/ Many hotels/motels have rooms with Kitchenettes so you can make breakfast/cook simple meals.etc: Do some basic research on these sites and then come back with your questions, several members of this list live on the island. I am sure that they will be able to give you advice once you know the questions.
