    1. GEORGE PLANT & FAMILY
    2. Ron Davies
    3. Hello all, It's been a while. I'm working to expand my mother's paternal family history: that of Thomas Plant born in County Longford, Ireland circa 1810 who married Elizabeth Austin in Kilcommock Parish, Church of Ireland, in 37 Nov, 1837. They emigrated to Ontario about 1855 together with four Irish born children. Three were later born in Ontario. Youngest son Thomas A Plant was my GGrandfather and he remained in Simcoe County. There was an older son Robert for whom I have absolutely nothing; ditto eldest daughter Catherine. I have marriages for three other sisters At least one Plant of another branch, emigrated to Vancouver - became Det George Plant of the Vancouver Police [I believe] and was living here as late as '44. I'm told his wife went by the name Ray [perhaps for Rachael], I'm wondering if there are/were more of the County Longford Plants who wound up in BC. The BC archives list 13 Plant marriages to 1923 and 83 Plant deaths up to 1983 ...and no births pre 1903 I'm hoping that some were from County Longford or surrounding counties and that descendants still reside here. I'd dearly like to hear from any who meet the foregoing criteria or know of them. Perhaps we can assist each other. Many thanks Ron Davies Surrey, BC PS Does the Vancouver Police have archives in which I could search for articles about Det Plant... or in his early days on the force. I understand he died in or near Portland, OR
