Hi Beverly, The Vancouver Island Regional Library on Commercial St. in Nanaimo has micro-filmed copies of old newspapers and a lovely film reader/copier. I have used it myself in locating old Obits. Go to Random Acts Of Genealogical Kindness at : http://www.raogk.org/bcolumbia.htm and see if you can find a volunteer to find this for you. If no one offers to get it let me know and I will book the reader ahead of time, and go up to Nanaimo and see if I can find it for you. I don't live in Nanaimo, but am there at least once every couple of weeks.
