    3. Good Morning Corinne, Perhaps if you post - very basic information about who and where you are researching. the list members would be better able to help you. In August you posted re finding info about:- Edward Pannell -m Julie -Edward-m Maria Biggs dau. of John Biggs. In Sept - you posted a query re Pannell & Freethy families As well Martindale - Pemberton families. Are these the lines you that you are researching now. Depending on years - you can search Census, City Directories - the B.C. Vital Events for Births 1872 - 1900 - Marriages 1872 - 1935 - Deaths 1872 - 1980. http://www.rootsweb.com/~canbc/1901vic_cen/1901vic.htm In most cases it is best to start with yourself - and work back generation by generation. It is best to go one step at a time - it is very easy to get enthused and jump from one source to another - it only confuses in the long run. RESEARCH FORMS: - print the following forms - they will help you keep track of the information that you have researched, that way you will not be doing the same thing over and again. Keep a log of where you have searched - Who you have spoken to , makes life much easier. http://www.pbs.org/kbyu/ancestors/charts/ http://www.lifelinks.mb.ca/sampdata.htm http://www.lifelinks.mb.ca/illness_codes.htm You can research at the Latter Day Saints - Family History Centres - the volunteers can guide you to the sources of information you are searching for. There are volunteers at the following site: who may be able to help. depending on the information you are seeking. http://www.raogk.org/bcolumbia.htm http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Hills/1285/hlCan.html#British%20Columbia http://members.home.net/vanislegenweb/lookups/bclook.htm http://web.city.victoria.bc.ca/archives/rossdir.asp In the Early 1940's we had the National Registration of All Canadians over the age of 16 years. This information is available - the cost $ 48.15 - refunded if information not found. http://www.tbaytel.net/bmartin/natreg.htm http://www.statcan.ca/english/IPS/Data/93C0006.htm You can search the National Archive Site - for various records: http://www.archives.ca/02/0201_e.html The Following Site - Is A Good Source Of Information On How To Conduct Your Research. http://www.saskgenealogy.com/researchtools/sgs_research_hints.htm http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/Strawn/tips.htm At 12:12 AM 11/12/01 -0800, Corinne Freethy wrote: >Hello Fellow Listers i have quite a bit of Genealogy notes and recorded >info that i want to share but it's too long and i also would so much like >some help or tips on how to trace the names i have please help me i'm so >very interested but i'm being pulled in all directions and don't know what >road to travel down. > > >==== CAN-BRITISH-COLUMBIA Mailing List ==== >Visit the British Columbia Gen Web page at >http://www.rootsweb.com/~canbc/
